Alien Species

Name pending. A fairly complex species, near human intelegence. A complex language system of compound syllables, comprised of clicks, whistles, and hisses. They don't have much flapping power and mostly glide. They only take one mate and share parenting duty. Their homes consist of a hollow in a tree, with a walled and roofed platform surrounding the trunk.
I model their colors off Earth birds. Colors are hereditary, Daughters inherit the mother's colors, sons the father's. Eye and skin color are based on dominant genes, darker colors are usually dominant.


Also, this is an open species! Feel free to make your own, any comment with a link any what bird you based the color off of. Good birds to look at are macaws, parrots, turacos, birds of paradise, some kingfishers, rollers, anything I haven't already used.
